Here's a version of the "Alice" video without the scenes from the movie, and instead has Avril running through the forest. The quality isn't the greatest, so hopefully a better version will come out soon. Enjoy!

The Young Artists for Haiti cover of K'Naan's "Wavin' Flag" was just released, and Avril has a tiny part at the beginning of the song... her voice sounds very strong, and very much like the UMS days! Don't forget to buy the song/video wherever you buy your digital music.



KOHL'S

If you haven't noticed, all of the "Alice in Wonderland" inspired Abbey Dawn collection is on Kohl's, but today Kohl's updated their AD page with a free download of "Alice" and a new banner... What is disappointing, is that Avril is not modeling this collection, just different models. Hopefully this is only temporary because of her busy schedule.


BEHIND THE SCENES OF "ALICE" VIDEO

Danny Lopez (who filled in for Johnny Depp in the "Alice" video when Avril is sitting at the table - not the close up shots, those are actually Johnny) says that as he was filming the video he was interviewed for a behind the scenes featurette for the Alice in Wonderland DVD! Excited! You can read about all of the wonderful things he had to say about Avril here.

Avril will apparently be on Chelsea Lately March 17. It's a talk show, and Chelsea is not afraid to say whatever comes to her mind. There is no official confirmation, but keep checking her site for updates.

Avril was out (looking drop dead gorgeous) last night with (friend) Brandon Davis at the "Araki: A Prespective" Exhibition in Hollywood. It seemed to be an odd event, showcasing Araki's (a photographer) erotic art. Yes we all hate when she is with Brandon, but I think it's safe to say that they are just friends.

CHINA'S WORD EXPO 2010

Remember when Avril was in Vancouver last April for the "Countdown to Shanghai Expo 2010"? She was appointed as the Canadian ambassador for the World Expo and will be appearing in Shanghai, China sometime between May 1 and October 31, 2010. There is no exact date yet of Avril's appearance.

There is also a French report that Avril will be a part of a gala, which will be broadcasted on March 30. Full details are still unnown.

Avril posted a picture on her Myspace with Jay. She performed "Alice" for the first time! Jim played the piano, and Avril wore a dress very similar to that in the video and the "card" leggings as well. She sang it a little lower than the original, and I personally looooovvved this version a lot better. It's not too different but it didn't seem like she was straining her voice. Just an overall amazing performance. I am so proud of our Avril. Thanks to Avrilsmusic for the HQs.

"ALICE IN WONDERLAND" MOVIE

I just wanted to tell everyone that I just came back from seeing "Alice in Wonderland" in Disney Digital 3D! It was part of a special premiere screening and the first time I've seen a 3D movie in theatres! If you are a fan of Tim Burton than you can expect all of the freaky special effects and dark atmosphere but it was overall a really good movie! I especially loved the part at the end when Alice climbed out of the hole, the same way that Avril does! Of course they played "Alice" at the end. When the movie ended, the song went right into the first verse (no long intro) and of course was the shortened version that we have been hearing in the video and radio. People were singing the song in the theatre!

Let me know what you thought of the movie once you see it!

Check out this great interview that Avril did while in London last week for the "Alice in Wonderland" premiere. The interview was great and Avril looked so happy! Not sure why she would get another miniature Schnauzer and name it Sam (that was her dog growing up) but ok! HAHA



Speaking of "Alice in Wonderland", those living in the USA can go here and enter to win the "Alice" inspired Abbey Dawn wardrobe! Kohls.com has also added the Alice themed clothes, as well as (finally) sunglasses!

The "Almost Alice" Soundtrack is now in stores! I'll be seeing the movie tomorrow (as part of a premiere) so I will let you know how it is!

Avril will be performing on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno tomorrow night!

[EDIT] Avril just performed My Happy Ending and Girlfriend, looking gorgeous in a bed dress with a Canadian flag belt and a little tattoo on her arm (fake, of course). She also performed with the full band. Pictures and video to come very soon!

Just a reminder, Avril is performing at the closing ceremonies of the Olympics in Vancouver TONIGHT. No idea what she is performing, but here's hoping that it's the first ever "Alice" performance!

The ceremonies start at 5:30 PM PST (8:30 PM EST) and are very long so those not in North America should not wait up lol. I will post all media here tomorrow

Dipple is one of Avril's friends (who is Derycks friend) and he does some videographing for Avril (he did the making of TBDT and was seen at the Alice video shoot)

[Mel, if you remember, in later 2008, Avril said that in 2009 she would be acting in a film. She said it would be dark and different than anything she had done before. When I heard that she made a song for Alice in Wonderland, I thought maybe she was going to act in the film, but something happened that prevented it. Maybe she is just making a song instead. However, based on what she has blogged on her website today, January 31, and what she said in her recent interview with Ryan Seacrest, it looks like she never was intending on being in Alice in Wonderland. So what acting part do you think was suppose to happen, but didn't?]
You are right. She talked about that a lot, but my guess is that it didn't work out. I think it was suppose to be something independent and 'dark', and a lead role. It definitely wasn't Alice in Wonderland though.
