With her candid new album and thriving beauty projects, Avril Lavigne proves that she's got staying power.

Avril's latest album, Goodbye Lullaby (in stores now), is "deeper, more raw, and emotional," she reveals. "It's about finding inner strength and moving forward."

She skateboarded onto the music scene as a grungy, tie-wearing Canadian teen back in 2002. But today Avril Lavigne is a full-blown businesswoman with a eye on taking over the world. She recently launched a website for her rocker-chic clothing line, Abbey Dawn, and already has two signature scents-Black Star and Forbidden Rose-under her studded belt.

"It took two years to develop each one," she notes. "I wanted a way to tell girls to believe in themselves, to be rebellious, and to shoot for the stars." In addition to her fragrance collection, Avril's beauty credentials include a spokesperson gig with Proactiv, which she confesses helped to clear up her problem skin. "I always use the Renewing Cleanser, Refining Mask, and Makeup Removing Cloths. They keep me from breaking out when I travel," she says. Her makeup bag is also stashed with two smoky-eye essentials: Maybelline mascara and M.A.C. eyeliner. When asked how she keeps her superpretty blonde hair looking bright, she says: "I don't really use any one thing, but I'm loving having green and pink streaks in it right now!" That's not to say that Avril hasn't learned to embrace her glam side. "I had the tomboy thing going on a while ago; now I'm more into dresses and heels. I still do it my way, though," she says. "I mix and match-so if I'm wearing heels, I'll have a hoodie on."

"I don't let paparazzi and gossip affect me. I'm here because I'm a musician, and that's where I put my focus."
