Hey Everyone!

How's it going?? So... I just wanted to fill you guys in...I'm done with my 4th record!!! Well, actually I have been done for a year... and now my record company have finally decided to release it. OMG..How nice! Thanks guys.

I have been dying to get back out on the road and do what I love the most... PLAY MUSIC. I know you guys have been waiting for a long time.....and so have I, but not by choice. I have been sitting with this record for a year now. It's really special to me.  I have produced a couple tracks alone for the first time, written solo, with friends, I have pushed myself and I feel proud.

In saying all that, this has been a really difficult record for me to create and to release. Not only is this the most meaningful and special record I have written, it is sincere, honest and close to my heart. But for the first time I experienced a bunch of bureaucratic BS. People do their best work when they are doing what they want, love and is natural for them, not when you are forcing them to be something that they are not.

From the beginning of my career my message has always been to be yourself and stand up for what you believe in. Follow your heart.

My first single off this record is called: "What The Hell". This song is the least personal song to me off this album. It's a fun and funny anthem. It has a broad message about personal freedom. It is the most pop track on the record.

I am shooting the video in 2 weeks and it will be out in January. I have been extremely busy designing Abbey Dawn and taking the line internationally for the first time, establishing "The Avril Lavigne Foundation" and focusing on my personal happiness and health. Balance!

Love you guys!

Wed September 15, 2010 - The Avril Lavigne Foundation

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited to finally be able to share with you something I have been working on for the past six months: The Avril Lavigne Foundation! Giving back has always been important to me and I’ve been so lucky to support a lot of wonderful charities over the years. By creating The Avril Lavigne Foundation I can really focus on the issues I care most about in a meaningful way. I’ve met so many incredible people over the years and I have been particularly inspired by the young people I’ve met who are facing life-threatening illnesses or who have a permanent disability. I’m always amazed at how people facing challenging circumstances work so hard to not be defined by those circumstances. They still have big dreams and like all of us work really hard to pursue those dreams. Seeing people overcome difficult circumstances really inspired me to focus the work of The Avril Lavigne Foundation on supporting children and youth living with disabilities and serious illnesses. We are just getting started but have a lot of big plans for the near future, and I hope we will inspire you to support our work.

Hi everyone,

I'm very excited to announce the premiere of my new music video ‘Alice’, for the Tim Burton film, Alice in Wonderland, exclusively today on VEVO. I had so much fun doing this video. We shot it in the Los Angeles Arboretum...it was beautiful. We wanted the visuals to capture the spirit of of the movie.

Enjoy!

Sun January 31, 2010 - Alice

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to check in and share a bit of what's going on with me right now. I am so excited! I feel very lucky to be a part of Tim Burton's new film Alice In Wonderland.

It all started off with me designing an Abbey Dawn/Alice In Wonderland collaboration for my fashion line at Kohls. I was working at the Disney offices going though graphic images from the movie for my designs and getting up to speed on the movie project. I was really inspired and excited about the film at that moment, so I asked Disney if they would like me to write the theme song for the film. They went back to Tim and he said yeah give it a go.

I was so excited when I got the news! I sat down on my piano immediately and wrote the song. I wanted to come up with something a little on the moodier side to fit his film. I think the piano adds a cool dramatic element to the song.

I met with Tim Burton and he played me some clips from his film. I finished the song and he really liked it and said he wanted to put it in the film as the first end credit song. OMG soooo cool! Hehe. Disney also wanted to use it as there marketing song around the film and so I shot a music video. So fun!!!!!

Working on this project was such a treat! It was such a great experience and Tim Burton was an absolute pleasure. He is very smart. I am so grateful for this opportunity...and can't wait to see the whole film!!!!

Love,
Avril xo

Fri January 15, 2010 - Haiti

Hi Everyone,

I am saddened by the news of death and devastation coming out of Haiti. What a horrible tragedy. Haiti is just a few hundred miles from the US, and even before this catastrophe, most Haitians lived in extreme poverty. This small country has had to endure so much already… and now this. It is times like these where we should stand up, pay attention and give help where we can. As I have said before, even the smallest of actions have an impact. To all the aid workers on the ground – thank you. My heart goes out to all Haitians in their time of need.

Sat December 5, 2009 - Teleton Mexico City

Hi Everyone!

Today i'm traveling to Mexico City to perform at the Teleton charity event. When I found out about the great work that Teleton is doing for the children of Mexico, I was happy to get involved.  It’s been said so many times but it’s true: Knowledge is Power. Learn about the world outside of your own and try and do whatever you can to give back. Even small actions have an impact. I am honored to be a part of Teleton's mission to help build and operate Children's rehabilitation centers and to work with disabled children throughout Mexico. I've visited Mexico on my tour and performed here many times and the people have always been very good to me and this is a wonderful opportunity to give back.

Mon June 29, 2009 -  Finding the Perfect Black Star Packaging

Creating the packaging and bottling for Black Star was very exciting for me. I really love combinations like pink and black and fun accessories like stars and studs. And so this is what you will see in my perfume bottle. The studded ring you see on the bottle is actually a removable ring, which you can wear or hang around a necklace. The box was inspired by my studded bracelets and belts.

Thu May 1, 2008 - Message from Avril

Hey Guys,

I am at home right now taking it easy. I have been sick this whole tour, and now I have lost my voice. I have never canceled a show in my whole career and just had to for the first time ever. This sux!

I am so sorry! I have been on the road for 60 days straight. I have had the flu 3 times and I never get sick, it just keeps going around. I think I am just run down. I just played 4 shows in a row in Texas (which is a lot for the vocals) and woke up in Vegas Tuesday with no voice. I thought I was gonna have to cancel that show, but I made it through.....barely! I still went on stage in Vegas and gave it my all, but unfortunately its interfering with my throat now. I had to eliminate songs.

I woke up yesterday and knew I wouldn't be able to sing last night. My voice is so shot. We drove home yesterday and I went to my throat doctor. He stuck a camera down my throat....ewwww, I gagged!!! It was kinda funny though.....he said I have "Acute Laryngitis".

So, um, yeah, that sux. I was supposed to play a show in San Diego yesterday and was supposed to perform on Jay Leno tomorrow and go live with Ryan Seacrest in the today, but I had to cancel that too. I'm at home resting my voice for 2 days and hope to be back out soon. Thank you for understanding. And once again, I sincerely apologize.

The concerts were sold out and some of the best crowds I have experienced. I felt you guys and could see all of your faces and excitement. I just want you to know that all my fans mean the world to me, and again, I am so happy with how the first 2 shows have gone over... :)

Sat April 21, 2007 - Message from Avril

Hello everyone!

So here we are.....my new record is out! I can't believe it. I am so excited. It's crazy. I hope that you all LOVE it. I can't wait to tour it, it's gonna be fun.

Last week i was in NYC doing SNL, Letterman, Regis and Kelly, TRL, Fuse and much more. I had a CD release party with a hot pink carpet (instead of a red carpet) :) It was so much fun!

Before my trip to NYC, i did promo in Europe: Paris, London, and Germany. Thanks to all the fans that came to the shows.

This coming Tuesday I head to Asia for 2 weeks- going to Tokyo, Hong Kong, and then Australia.

This is a very exciting time for me. Thanks to everyone who supports me in what i do. I am so thankful for all of you.

Also, with all the press that's been out with my new album, I wanted to clear up a couple of things again. I didn't say anything mean about Britney in rehab. I only wish her well. My words were misused.

And all the reports on me buying a new house, that is supposedly Travis Barker's, is FALSE as well.

Peace

Avril

Thu April 5, 2007 - Message from Avril

To my fans,

In regards to the article that ran in "The Mail On Sunday - Night & Day Live Magazine" in the UK, I just want to let you know that I was misquoted. When asked about Britney Spears, it quotes me as saying, "what has happened to Britney is all down to who she is as a person". I just want you to know that I never said that.

Fri September 29, 2006 - Message from Avril

In response to reports of Avril's recent run in with paparazzi, she would like to say the following: "I'd like to sincerely apologize for my behavior with the Paparazzi. It's trying at best dealing with their insistent intrusions. I meant no offense to my fans, whose relationship I truly value. I have and will always go out of my way for my fans. My behavior was a reaction to the persistent attack from the paparazzi."

-----------------------------------

Fri August 11, 2006 - Hey guys

Hey guys.

How's it going!
I am in the studio right now as you know.
Fox approached me to write a song for their movie, "Eragon". They showed me the trailer and talked about it. It's going to be a very big movie for them and everyone is really excited. So I worked on a couple different ballad type songs, and the one they ended up using is called, "Keep Holding On".

This song was specifically written for the movie. It was challenging writing lyrics that had to go exactly with the movie. It was a new experience for me and I learned a lot. I was writing about strength, power, and destiny, while keeping in line with the story of the film. Dr. Luke also worked with me on this track.

This song however, is no indication of what the rest of the record is like. You guys are in for a big surprise. AND I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Later,
Avril

Tue July 11, 2006 - Hi everyone!

Hey Guys,

I hope your summer is going good. It's my favorite time of year. I'm working on my songs. It's all coming along great. I'm just taking my time. It's nice not being under pressure... that's the way it should be... I just shot Butch Walker's new video for his song Bethamphetamine (Pretty Pretty). It was a fun experience, getting to act. You can check out the video in Crossbonez. Also, I've answered some of your questions in the Q&A section of Crossbonez. I'll do my best to get to some more of them shortly.

Will speak to you guys again soon.

March 2006

Hey guys

I just want you to know I read the London Telegraph, and wanted to clear something up. I'm not over songs like "My Happy Ending" and "Complicated". They are my favorite. I was asked about my direction for the next record and said it probably wouldn't be so much on the dark side. Not that I think my record was "So Dark", but I was just trying to say I'm at a really happy place in my life and that will most likely reflect in my songwriting

Thanks, Avril

March 2006

Dear Fans,

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a great 2006 so far. Its been a while since I’ve had a chance to say hello so I just want to let you know how things are going with me. I am very excited to be heading to Torino (Italy) very soon to be representing Canada at the 20th Winter Olympic Games. Make sure to watch the closing ceremonies on February 26th. I’ll be performing “Who Knows”.

It’s been a very bust and exciting past few months for me. I have roles in 3 upcoming films. “Fast Food Nation”, “Over the Hedge”, and “The Flock”. Having the opportunity to act has been amazing and a lot of fun! In the animated film “Over the Hedge”, you will get to hear my voice as a possum named Heather. It will be in theatres on May 19th.

I wanted to personally tell you some upcoming changes to www.avrillavigne.com and the fan club. We have decided to transition Crossbonez into a Free fan club! Because of my hectic schedule I haven’t been able to dedicate as much time as I’d like to my fan club and felt that it was only fair to make these changes. We will still do our best to keep you informed on the latest news and on getting you some cool exclusive content when we can. The site will have the same look and feel, but a few things will be different.

Also, I wanted to mention that down the road when touring starts again you will still be able to get fan club tickets to my shows. The best seats will still be available for you.

Thanks for your patience and understanding about these changes.

XOXO,

Avril

Wed November 3, 2004 - From Boston...

Hi guys, we're in Boston. Did you all have a good Halloween? Last night i ran out on stage in an authentic Hooters outfit, carrying a tray of drinks. Me, the band and Butch Walker played Hey Ya by Outkast and danced around in our costumes before starting the encore. It was so much fun! I hope all of you had a fun night too.

The tour is going great and i'm having a lot of fun with Butch. He has been coming out to the radio stations with me for my acoustic performances. He's such a talented guy and i cannot say enough good things about him.

I'll speak to you all again soon.

Mon November 1, 2004 - North American Tour

Hey guys, I'm 2 show dates into my North American tour. I just got back from Europe. I was there for a month. Europe was amazing and the crowds were awesome. I was very fortunate enough to be able to play in the size of venues that i did.

It's great to be out with new songs. My show is actually quite different this time around. I play the piano on 3 songs. I play solo on a few songs and i also play the drums.

Simple plan opened for me in Europe as did Bowling for Soup. Now i have my good friend Butch Walker opening for me in North America.

I hope to see you guys out at the show.

Thanks to all the European fans for a great tour.

I'll talk to you all again soon!

Mon July 12, 2004 - Far Far Away

Far Far Away I am in a far far away land...somewhere, I don't know where I am. Wait! Madrid. I am in Spain.
Yesterday I had the day off and my friend and I went rowing in boats. So nice to get out!

I love the summertime. Growing up in Canada all I did was spend my summers camping, fishing, water skiing and tubing, canoeing. All that good stuff. Gotta love the cottage life.

I remember my first year out on the road when summer past I hadn't gone camping, and I was so disappointed. So I tried to make up for it the following year, and the whole campsite knew I was there.
I had to leave early. Oh well. My motto: "Shit Happens"

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Live it up while you can people!

Wed May 19, 2004 - My baby don't mess around...

Hey Ya!
My baby don't mess around because she loves me so and this I know for sho' :) (best song ever! Love it)

I am sitting in my hotel room here in NYC. Kinda bored, although I know I really should be sleeping. Matt (my drummer ), just took me out for my midnight snack, for our all time favorite food, pizza.

It's 4 am, and I've gotta get up early to do a bunch of my favorite things...INTERVIEWS!! YEAH, hahaha just kidding. No, I know they're super important.

My record is being released next week on the 25th here. Just a few more days! Weird, It's actually done. Felt like forever. I'm so excited.

I just got back from Japan. It was a great trip. Long freakin flight, but of course worth it. :)
I just have to say that my Japanese fans are amazing. Thank you for being so supportive all the way over there in Japan. I love you guys, and I can't wait to return in August for Summer Sonic.

Everyone is just so nice and polite over there. For those of you who haven't been, Japan is probably one the cleanest countries I've been to. Well at least Tokyo is spotless. You are actually asked to remove your shoes in certain areas. I think it's great.

Shopping is sweet there. All the clothes fit perfect.

I had band rehearsals today, well technically yesterday. I love the guys. I am so proud of them because they are totally nailing the songs. They are so good. Can't wait to play my new songs!

Thu May 6, 2004 - Saturday Night Live

Hey ; I'm back stage at Saturday Night Live doing rehearsals. I'm really excited to be playing on the show again. I'm performing Don't' tell me and My Happy Ending

Its really cool because my mom is here with me in NYC . Friday night she is going on The David Letterman Show.

There are having a bunch of moms for their mothers day special.

Monday I go to Japan and I'm not really looking forward to the time change because I just got back from Europe.

My head is really spacing right now but its all good.

It's all part of it and I love it!

Tue April 27, 2004 - Tower of London

Hi. I'm in London England. Yesterday I had a day off and went to the Tower of London, walked across the Tower Bridge, and walked around Kensington Palace. It was a beautiful, non rainy day in London.

Now I'm back to the good old promo for the rest of the trip. Today so far I performed "Don't Tell Me" for a TV show and have been sitting in a hotel room for 2 hours doing TV interviews. I'm on a 20 minute break and then I'm off to a conference room to do a bunch of "Round Table" interviews. That is basically me at a table with maybe 10 journalists interviewing me at the same time. I'll go do that for and hour with a few different groups, have a bite to eat, and then go play a show.

Tonight I am playing "The Moarch". This was the first club I played in London. I thought It would be neat to go back to where it all began over here.

It will be quite interesting...

Thu April 8, 2004 - Update from the road...

hi.
I'm on my bus right now. I have an 11 hour drive ahead of me.
There are just a few dates left to the mall tour, and than I'm off to Europe.
I have been putting together the album artwork. I am a very visual person, and always like to be in control. My new video is out now, hope you guys like it.

The song "Don't Tell Me", seems to be doing pretty well, which I'm pleased about.
I'm really proud of Evan and I, because we wrote that one a couple years ago when we first met, before "Complicated", was released. I was 17, and he was 18. He was siting down playing guitar one day at our hotel, and I just started singing. I sang out a bunch of melodies and thew lyrics to them, and the next thing you know, we had written the first single for my second album before the first single on my first one was out.

The rest of my record, besides "Freak Out", was all written within the past few months.

It's funny, I think you can really see a difference in my writing from then to now.
The stuff I have written recently just has a different feel to it. I hope you guys like the songs when you hear them.

I just want to say thanx to everyone who has come out to my shows on this "Surprise Mall Tour"
It's so awesome to be playing my new songs. thank you to those who have been supportive.

C ya

Thu April 1, 2004 - MEDIA LIES!

Just so you guys hear the real story from me. Last week I visited a radio station in Boston. Evan and I pointed out that there was a really bad picture of me on the wall. The radio DJ said to me, "Oh, go ahead, take it down" So I did.

The next thing you know, everyone's bringing this up in my interviews, it's on the internet, and being printed that I went into a radio station all mad, tore up a picture on there wall, had a fit etc.. Can you say manipulation??? Somebody desperately wanted a story.

This is what people do. They manipulate, they make up stories by twisting things around, and try to make you look bad. This happens all the time and not just to me but other artists as well.

This is what we get?? Come on

I'm about one week in to this crazy mall tour. So many fans are showing up. It's unbelievable! Thank you to everyone for your support. It's so awesome to be back out on the road again! I'm in love with touring and shows. I took about seven months and wrote songs and recorded my second record that's called UNDER MY SKIN. I can't believe it's finally done! Sun November 2, 2003 - LA to NYC

so i'm on a plane right now, on my way to nyc. my dvd is coming out on nov. 4 (tomorrow) and i'm going there for the premiere. i think it's funny. it's just a bunch of raw footage of me horsing around, being an idiot. i had a lot of fun on my first tour and i think that was captured. after ny i have to go to la to go do some more studio work. it's a lot warmer there than it is in canada which is nice.

anyway i know  i always say it, but i'm going to try to do more journal entries.

Mon August 12, 2002 - obsessed!!!

Dear Fans,

I just want all of you guys to know that some idiot out there is posing as me and sending emails to various message boards, dissing my fans and just being a jerk in general. One of the email addresses he/she is using is emailavril@aol.com....but he/she keeps changing them.

First of all I don't have an AOL account and I would never put my name in my email address. And most important I love all my fans. I would never take them for granted or say anything bad about them. Please just ignore this pathetic person out there who has nothing else better to do than sit at home by him/herself and pretend he/she is me...obsessed!!!

Wed June 12, 2002 - So my CD is out now!!!

So my CD is out now!!! It came out on the forth. I’d like to thank everyone who purchased a copy. Your support is much appreciated!

Let me think, what’s new…..Tonight we will rock the “Viper Room” Me and the guys played on Jay Leno last Thursday. We will also be doing Craig Kilborn on the 13th , and Regis and Kelly on the 27th….(Evans Birthday) Speaking of b-day’s, Mark just had his June 2nd. He’s 23. We had a little surprise party in our hotel room for him.

This summer we will be playing at ton of radio shows, and will be going to Europe in July for two weeks, one week in Japan in August, back to Europe in September for another 10 days, and then Austrailia in October for 10 days.

In between those trips we will performing at various radio festivals in North America, shooting our next video, doing TV shows and other promotion. This is important to me because I want to break not only in North America, but other countries around the world too. That is another one of my goals.

Oh ya, I’m excited because we are performing “Complicated” at the Much Music Video Awards!!! I’m pumped! This is especially an honor because it’s not often that people get to perform when their videos haven’t been nominated on the Awards show…the video for “Complicated” came out after the nomination deadline, but they are making an exception and still letting us play!! Much Music Rocks!!!!!

Summer’s coming up eh?? Can’t wait!!!

Wed June 5, 2002 - Good day, good evening, whatever it is.

Good day, good evening, whatever it is. I’m on a plane going from NYC heading to LA. We played on Jay Leno last Thursday. On the 13th, we will be on Greg Killborn, and on the 28th Regis and Kelly. We were just in NYC for a couple of days rehearsing and doing press. NYC is such a funny place. So many people, so much going on, craziness is everywhere. I love China Town and So-Ho. I bought a wicked tie off the street there.

It was Marks birthday on the 2nd. Now he’s 23. Me and Evan performed an acoustic set at the Kiss Boston Show on the first. I did an autograph session afterwards and got to meet a lot of wicked fans. It’s a really good feeling to know my songs touched you guys. You guys were amazing! Thanks so much. Hey to the dude who asked me to marry him and took a million pictures of me. Hahhaha.

I noticed at every show we’ve had, some of the girls have been wearing tank tops and ties like me... :) …so I now have “avril” ties in my merchandise. They are black with red, my two favorite colors. There is also anther one with my star and name. You can go to www.avrilmerch.com or my website www.avril-lavigne.com has a link to it. I did my best at coming up with stuff I felt represented me…..or at least I made sure that they’d would be something I’d wear. That’s why there are tank tops and ties. I love the black hoodies and ties the best!!

We are working on a fan club as well. It’s called “Back Bone”.

Ya, so my CD came out yesterday!! It was a special day for me. In a way it felt like my birthday.

I’m gonna jet,

Avril

Mon May 27, 2002 - My first journal entry

Howdy.

This is my first journal entry. Sorry I didn’t get it up earlier. I’m gonna try to get things up more often . My life’s been real crazy lately, but I’m gonna try to make time for this more often.

I’ve been starting to realize how special fans are lately. I get approached quite often now and am realizing that people do care, and people do want to hear from me. Sweet. I like writing and expressing myself, so this should be fun.

Right now I’m sitting in the Pittsburgh airport. I just finished eating a McDonalds crispy chicken sandwich,… I feel sick. Now a days it feels like half of my life is spent on airplanes and in airports ……..BORING!!! I’m going to Norfolk , VA for some radio promotion. Then I’m off to NYC for a couple of days. I’m doing TRL soon.

Today I was in Toronto making a cameo appearance in the new Treble Charger video for "Hundred Million" It’s a good song. Swollen Members, Gob, and Sum 41 were also making cameo appearances. We did a bit of stage diving and moshing. Good times.

Much Music came by and I did a little interview with them. I also had 2 photo shoots, and another interview. I felt bad cause I was really rushed and couldn’t stop to sign autographs and do pictures for every one who wanted them. I tried!! You know it’s really cool when people ask for a hug. I love it. Hugs are special. I think they are important.

I love hugs!!
I’m gonna go cause I’m tired k.

Avril

P.S. my cd comes out in like a week. June 4. all I can really say is…..Finally!

Peace.
