Here are some facts about Avril and Deryck's wedding
- The couple tied the knot at 6 pm on July 15th, 2006 at a private ten-acre estate in Montecito, California.
- Lavigne was walked down the aisle by her father, John, to Mendelssohn's "Wedding March."
- The couple said their vows under an awning decorated with white flowers in front of 110 guests, including family and friends. The ceremony was 20 minutes.
- She wore a Vera Wang custom-made ivory strapless tissue organza gown with wrapped bodice and appliqué lace beaded skirt. She carried a bouquet of white roses. Her bridesmaids were in Vera Wang draped petal pink Crepe Chiffon Gowns. Whibley and his five groomsmen, including best man Steve Jocz, wore Boss Black tuxes by Hugo Boss.
- Once the groom had kissed the bride, guests tossed rose petals at the newlyweds as they walked back up the aisle.
- Her mother Judy and siblings Michelle and Matthew looked on, as did Whibley’s mother Michelle. Members of Whibley’s band, Sum 41, and a longtime friend of Lavigne’s were among those in the wedding party.
- Avril's sister Michelle caught the bouquet.
- After the wedding, guests were to be treated to an outdoor cocktail hour before the reception, including a sit-down dinner, under a giant tent on the estate which was decorated with red roses, candles and other flowers. Lavigne changed into a Vera Wang Ivory strapless draped Chantilly lace gown.
- The couple's first dance is expected to be to the Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris" (Avril's favorite song).
- Fifteen security guard, including armed
private guards and Santa Barbara police officers, patrolled around the exterior
of the estate, which has a long, winding driveway leading from the entranceway
to the grounds where the ceremony took place. At least two dozen paparazzi were
camped out in front of the property hoping to snap pictures of the bride, who
arrived close to 3:00 pm in a classic Rolls Royce with curtains in the windows.
- There was a huge tent with red velvet curtains set up on the premises, and they had a big generator out on the main road supplying extra power for the affair.
- A jazz band was hired to entertain the guests. A DJ also played, and Butch Walker performed a couple of songs toward the end of the evening.
- In the days before the scheduled ceremony, the couple reportedly had been staying at the exclusive San Ysidro Ranch, a chi-chi resort nestled in the Montecito foothills near the Pacific Ocean. The Ranch's top suite, the Eucalyptus, goes for $3,990 a night!
- In an effort to keep the exact location under wraps until the big day, guests were told they would be picked up from their hotels by a shuttle bus in the late afternoon to be taken to the venue.
- The wedding was coordinated by celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss.
- Guests were shuttled to the wedding in grey stretch limousines and SUVs. Avril arrived in a white Rolls Royce.

party on June 30, 2006, Lavigne opened gifts that included handcuffs, pink
2Belles panties embroidered with “The Mrs,” and a bra, panties and camisole set
from Cherish.

dozen friends at L.A.’s upscale Koi before hitting Lobby nightclub.
